Ingredients for making baked Junino Pastry:

 750 grams of ground cane

 1 chopped red pepper

 3 chopped tomatoes

 1 chopped leek

 2 chopped onions

 200 milliliters of tomato sauce

 1 tablespoon of oregano

 1 tablespoon of paprika

 2 cloves of ground garlic

 1 pinch of cumin

 1 tablespoon of wheat flour

 2 bay leaves

 150 grams of chopped olives

 2 packages of ready-made dough (300 g each)

 1 drizzle of oil

 black pepper to taste

 salt to taste

How to make baked Junino Pastel:

Prepare the minced meat filling for pastry, placing a pan with a drizzle of oil, the onion, minced garlic and bay leaf on the fire and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes. Then add the peppers, tomatoes and leeks and let it cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Add the ground beef in the pan and keep stirring until it is loose. Add the flour, mix and then add the tomato sauce and the remaining seasonings: oregano, paprika, cumin and olives. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until thickened.

Tip: Flour helps to thicken the ground beef filling. If you want, you can substitute oatmeal or cornstarch.

Turn on the oven at 180ºC and open the dough for pastry and cut discs of approximately 12 cm in diameter, as in the photo. In the center of each pastry place a portion of the meat filling (approximately 1 tablespoon).

Tip: Do not exaggerate the amount of filling so that the pastries do not open in the oven.

Grease the edges of the dough disks and close the pastries. Wrap the edges with your fingers or press with a fork. If you want, brush a beaten egg yolk, so the pastries are shiny after baking. Place on a greased baking tray and bake at 180ºC for 20-30 minutes.

When the Festa Junina Pastry is golden, remove from the oven and let it cool a little before serving. Is ready! Delight everyone with this June delicacy and tell us what you think in the comments. Enjoy your food!
